MaraeMelbourne Inc has taken up the challenge to achieve the kaupapa of constructing Australia's first operating Marae. The complex will stand in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The opening is presently set for December 2012.

A very strong and skilled Management Committee is leading this kaupapa on behalf of the people. The research has taken place (over a 7 year period). The strategies have been developed and embedded.

It is now time for the people to get on board and row this waka over the line. MaraeMelbourne invites everyone to become members. Membership is FREE. Simply fill out the form on this page and submit. It's as simple as that.

Members will receive regular updates via email. Periodically, the Management Committee will invite the membership to come together for a full update of progress. The website www.maraemelbourne.net will be the public window into the kaupapa that will allow the journey to proceed with full transparency. There are appropriate tools integrated into the website to allow the people / membership a platform to voice constructive comment.

Formal membership is for persons 18 years or older. All members children under the age of 18 are considered members.

Note: Brick Owners are automatically recognised as members. Brick owners receive the added benefit of discounted prices for all official MaraeMelbourne events. The first 500 brick owners will also receive VIP Passes to the opening ceremony of MaraeMelbourne complex in 2012. (VIP passes cannot be purchased)
